Mr. Catlin has a BA and MA in Art. He has taught painting and sculpting for over a decade. After the events of 9.11 he left the world of academia and entered the US Coast Guard. After starting a new career journey in life, the path has gone full circle and brought him back to sculpting.  His current sculptures are mixed media semi-aquatic , earthy,  organic reflections of living,  as well as working in the nautical realm of the "coast".

When asked where he creates his art, Mr. Catlin describes it as ," I do have temporary places where the mechanics of art are executed. But the real stuff....the place where vision / inspiration comes from is located right out there...off the coast, in that hazy-to-define area where the sea meets the horizon".
